Those are some intense blues! I love the way you composed it with the blues in the pool, lake, horizon and sky–with just a little green to break it up. Beautiful
Hi, Mike,
My “Yellowstone” Google alerts picked up your photo of Abyss Pool. I live near Yellowstone and am a Yellowstone nut. Do you have a lot of Yellowstone stuff? Do you get to visit very often? Thanks.
Hi Liz,
We’ve been to Yellowstone so many times that there is no way I could try to figure it out. I was there for the first time in 1963, when I was 11 years old. Bears were still common then all over the place and the trash cans had not yet been bear-proofed. After I got married in 1972, our first camping trip was to Yellowstone in 1973. I was in the Navy and was stationed at Idaho Falls for 6 months of training. In 1977, I was back in Idaho as an instructor and we went to Yellowstone several times while we were there. We left Idaho in the fall of 1980, but have been back to Yellowstone several times, the latest in 2007. We plan to go back later this year, where we’ll be meeting up with our nephew and his family. We introduced him and his sister to Yellowstone in 1978 when they stayed with us for the summer.
Yes, I do have quite a good collection of photographs which I’m putting into on-line galleries. I’m working on a website that will include links to these as well as other good online links. It should be up and running later this week. I’ll be announcing it on my Haw Creek Out ‘n About blog.
